Revolutionary Guard Threatens Israel with "Innovative" Strikes in Coming Days
-
Successive statements by Iranian officials reflect a deliberate strategy of psychological pressure on Israel while maintaining flexibility in timing and nature of response
Tehran renewed its threats to respond to Israeli raids that targeted three Iranian provinces last Saturday, promising "stronger and innovative" strikes in the coming days.
Mohammad Reza Naqdi, Revolutionary Guard's Assistant for Coordination Affairs, praised Hezbollah and Hamas, stating: "In the coming days, you will see stronger strikes directed at the Zionist entity, and Israelis will be surprised by new measures and innovations."
Iranian government spokesperson, Fatemeh Mohajerani, confirmed the inevitability of responding to what she described as "clear aggression against our borders," indicating that determining the nature of the response is subject to the Supreme National Security Council's decision.
Mohajerani emphasized that the response will come "at the appropriate time and place," explaining that "the method and location of response depends on senior leaders' decision."
Iranian air defense had announced that military sites in Tehran, Ilam, and Ahvaz provinces were subjected to Israeli attacks, confirming limited resulting damage.
The Israeli army announced executing precise strikes on about 20 military sites in several Iranian regions, while Washington called on Tehran to calm down and avoid escalation.
These developments come 26 days after exchanging threats between both countries, following an Iranian attack with over 180 missiles on Israeli military bases early this month.
The U.S. administration intensified consultations with Tel Aviv to coordinate the Israeli response, encouraging limiting strikes to military sites without targeting energy, oil, and nuclear facilities.
This mutual escalation raises international concerns about the possibility of the region sliding into a comprehensive military confrontation, amid continued exchange of threats between both parties.
